Hello and happy December 1st!
My spirits are buoyed by this holiday long weekend. I have been needing the extra doses of rest, relaxation, and cozy moments at home. I hosted Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving at home this year and loved making bread and potato sculptures for our table. It’s fun to sit in front of so many bread options at once. It always amazes me how much work goes into Thanksgiving dinner with days and hours of prep lovingly poured into each one. We all loved it but definitely need time to recover from it. I don’t usually sleep in but I slept in until 10AM the morning after. There is nothing like sleeping in and waking up to a big 32 oz mug of steamy gingerbread hot chocolate. This time of year is my absolute favorite – for me, it is a month full of festive cheer, holiday traditions, and cozy moments nestled in between.

This coming Saturday, December 7 will be my third year joining the Marigold Holiday Market! Without fully realizing it three years ago, I created my own little tradition of baking up a festive storm and sharing cakes and cookies with as many people as I can. I love being able to bake through the endless holiday flavors on my to-bake list while watching the cheesiest holiday movies. And seeing return faces each year brings me so much joy. Spend the morning with us at the beautiful Marigold shop where you’ll find wreaths, garlands, mini-trees, wine, vintage books, and more that would make for great gifts. The market will truly be a fête not to miss this holiday season.
Because I must always do the most (and because I need to release all of my festive holiday baking), this year I am putting together both holiday cake boxes and holiday cookie boxes. Grab some to enjoy while watching all of the holiday movies or to share as gifts to friends and family. But also, grab some for no reason at all other than to indulge. I’ll also have a baker’s choice cookie spread a la carte available because I’ll probably be baking till I drop this week (lol). I want to create my version of this. I hope to see you one last time this year. Come say hi and let’s exchange holiday greetings :)

2024 Holiday Cake Box
Pumpkin and roasted barley milk tea cake. Roasted pumpkin cake layers with cold-steeped roasted barley tea milk cream nestled in between each. I love pumpkin cake and always excited with a new variation of each one.
Chestnut latte oat cake. Thick oat cake layers wrapped with a thick cream of chestnut latte. A mix of nutty flavors mixed with a warming coffee flavor. A chestnut cake of some kind is always a must during the holidays.
Cranberry yuzu buttermilk cake. I could not let this menu pass without at least one cranberry cake! A contrast of citrus and tang to complete the cake tasting box flavor profiles.
Plum spiced buckwheat cake. This cake takes the best of my summer stone fruit preserves and combines it with the spices and warmth of the winter months.
NOTE: cakes are quite limited and pre-order only. I won’t have extra cakes on Saturday!
